Culturally Relevant Therapy for Black Caribbean Immigrants in the United States: A Qualitative Study
Abstract: Black Caribbeans in the United States are often mistakenly identified as African American.  This racial consolidation is particularly problematic in mental health treatment. This qualitative study explored the experiences of Black Caribbean people in therapy in the United States. Themes related to if and how therapists addressed their racial distinctiveness emerged.
