Amputation and Phantom Pain: A New Neuro-psychomotor Rehabilitation Approach to Body-schema for Amputees
Abstract: The Swiss Faculty of Psychomotricity (HETS-Geneva) along with the Haitian Faculty of Medicine (UEH) has opened in 2013 in Port-au-Prince a new rehabilitation center, the CERPA. The strategy ahead is to develop a low-cost therapy improving the rehabilitation of amputees’ phantom-limb pain specifically in developing countries. Coordinating psychomotricity with the latest neurosciences discoveries, this new phantom-limb pain therapy is specifically designed to act on amputees’ disturbed body-schema
