Acculturation and Globalization in the Caribbean: Theory and Research from Haiti and Jamaica
Abstract: Given high levels of mobility in our region (e.g., colonization and migration), and modern globalization (e.g., media, mobile phones, internet, tourism), acculturation is a critical, though underutilized, framework in Caribbean psychology. This symposium will feature a master lecture, empirical studies in Haiti and Jamaica, and extended time for discussion/application. (Word Count 49/50)
